TODAY SHOW 20 Life Unveiled! Studying Plastic Surgery and Adjusting Face Views in China

The interview is as follows:

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“First of all, thank you very much for joining the show. Watching the show on social media is that the way you talk is logical, principled, and has many things. So I investigated your background and found out that you are a doctor. I was shocked that you are really a doctor. You are a real doctor and we are siblings. Let’s get to the point.

“Why do you want to study medicine?”

Dr. Som

“Actually, I would like to say that it was my mother’s plan because when I was a child, I really enjoyed school activities, such as Dammeyer, because I studied at an average level. However, I was good at some subjects. Fortunately, I was good at science subjects.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Let’s leave it at that for a moment. What was Grace like when she was a child?”

Dr. Grace

“When I was a child, Grace had many careers. I used to want to be a designer because Grace and Phi Som liked sewing and embroidery. We liked sewing doll clothes because we each had a favorite Barbie doll. When I was in high school, I wanted to be a dentist again. And when Phi Som went to study medicine, a friend of my mother who was a general practitioner suggested that Grace try studying to be a general practitioner. So I changed my mind.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Change direction?”

Dr. Grace

"yes"

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“But in reality, you have loved art since you were a child?”

Dr. Grace

"yes"

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Both of them? Because one of them likes Dammeyer, that is, likes beauty?”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes"

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Which is very important for the future. She didn’t know before that what she was taught at home, from her parents and herself, was art.”

"When you went to study medicine in China, which university did you attend?"

Dr. Som

“I study at Tongjin Medical College. It’s actually a university in China. We have to study in separate classes. If you’re Chinese, you’ll study in Chinese classes. If you’re an international student, you’ll study in international classes.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"Is it difficult to study, my child?"

Dr. Som

“I have to be honest, studying medicine is already difficult. There will be pre-clinic classes (Pre-clinic is learning in the lecture room before applying knowledge to treating patients. Pre-clinic is for 1st-3rd year medical students, while “Clinic” is for 4th-6th year medical students, who will actually learn with real patients under the close supervision of medical professors or senior doctors). There will also be a HSK test, a Chinese language test (What is HSK? HSK is short for The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, a test of Chinese language proficiency for foreigners who are not native Chinese speakers. It is a written test that tests listening, reading, and writing skills. It is organized by the Office for the Promotion of International Chinese Language Teaching (HANBAN), Ministry of Education of China). Because we have to talk to Chinese patients.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"That's right (Mr. Toi is joking). I'm sorry, I'm not joking (raising his hands in greeting). Please don't misunderstand, because it's not easy to listen and understand."

Dr. Som

“Yes, and the disease is different from the disease of Thai people.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“And when I take the course, starting from year 1, year 2, year 3, I will know how difficult it is.”

Dr. Som

"It's difficult."

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"Then how did you talk to your younger sibling to get her to continue her studies? Because you should know that studying is so difficult for me?"

Dr. Grace

“It might be because of family too. When my sister left, my mother said, ‘Then, don’t delay and follow me.’”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"It's because of your mother who encouraged you to go."

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes"

Dr. Grace

“Because my family is also Chinese, I want to learn about the language as well.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"So you went to the same university?"

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

“Yes, the same university.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"Som, when you went to study, what major did you take the exam for? What did you like the most when you went to study?"

Dr. Som

“When I went to study medicine in China, on Saturdays and Sundays I had to go to study acupuncture as another specialist. And when I came back to Thailand, I didn’t get to rest because my mother would call my friends who were doctors to send the two of us to rotate around the surgery wards and the beauty wards, so I absorbed it from then on.

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Since childhood?” To put it simply, when I returned from China, instead of getting a break, I just went around in circles.

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes"

Dr. Grace

"Let's go to the hospital."

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“To see the doctor’s work.” But she (Doctor Som) also studied Chinese acupuncture, right?

Dr. Som

“Yes, but my younger sister (Dr. Grace) is also skilled in this area.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"Oh, you study there too?"

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes"

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"Wow, that's really cool." So when you (Dr. Som) graduated, what did you major in?"

Dr. Som

“When I graduated from China, I had to graduate as a general practitioner first. After that, I had the opportunity to intern at a famous facial reshaping institute. Since I was lucky enough to have a lot of clients, a pharmaceutical company that specializes in hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers sent me overseas to study and secretly observed the techniques we used to treat patients. The company invited me to be a teacher to teach facial reshaping filler injections.

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"What about you, Grace?"

Dr. Grace

"Grace will also study facial enhancement and feng shui adjustment."

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“You went to study this and does it go well with science?”

Dr. Grace

“That’s right, auntie. Actually, the science of facial adjustment is divided into 3 equal parts of the Golden Ratio (Golden Ratio, the golden ratio indicating the beauty of the face, is a proportion designed by an Italian mathematician named Leonardo Fibonacci. He believed that the Golden Ratio is something that helps things, whether it’s drawings, photographs, logos, or even the face, look the most proportionate and beautiful. The Golden Ratio has been accepted by many people as a true measure of beauty. It’s not just surgeons who use the Golden Ratio to measure facial proportions; photographers and designers also use the Golden Ratio to measure the perfect proportions of beauty.)

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"Oh, how is it called Golden Ratio?"

Dr. Som

“Actually, the dimensions of a person’s face are when looking at the frontal dimension, which is called the front view. It is measured in 3 parts: the first proportion is from the hairline to the space between the eyebrows, the second proportion is from the space between the eyebrows to the tip of the nose, and the last proportion (the third proportion) is from the tip of the nose to the tip of the chin. All 3 proportions must be 1:1:1. And the side must also have dimensions in terms of the O G curve (rounded shape), Auntie. There are a lot of details.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“So these things come together and it’s a facelift.”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes"

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“But what are you doing now specifically about beauty?”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes"

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"Let me ask you something straight."What is filler?"?

Dr. Som

“Let’s divide it into 2 types because most people tend to think that fillers are liquid silicone. But if it’s a filler that Dr. Som is a medical professor teaching about facial adjustment injections, it will be Hyaluronic Acid (HA: Hyaluronic Acid). If it’s a safe filler, it must be a compound of Hyaluronic Acid only. This substance must dissolve on its own. 100%”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“As a doctor, if someone becomes a patient, why would they need to inject filler?”

Dr. Som

“Because filler injections are used to treat deep wrinkles, such as Deep under eye circlesNasolabial folds orSunken cheeksSunken temples Because it is caused by bone loss and fat loss, so we fill it in.”

Dr. Grace

“Additionally, from Dr. Som, it is about studying about facial adjustments or about

Structure (structure) When we get older, it is impossible to slow down the deterioration of the bones. Therefore, the remaining fat will also deteriorate.

Mr. Toi Traiphop

"It is said that it will change according to the situation, which is a natural thing that cannot be avoided."

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“We thought we had these cheekbones forever, which is not true?”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

“That’s not true.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“The eyebrows and eyes that used to be here will gradually come down?”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes

Dr. Som

“It depends on the enzymes in the body that break down the bones or the structures of each person, they are not the same and the problems of each person are not the same.

The main thing to notice is that the temples are sunken and the area under the eyes is gone.

Mr. Toi Traiphop

Temple collapse“This?” And at what age did your temples collapse?”

Dr. Som

“It depends on the person. When the temples sink, it can cause ptosis because there are tendons that hold our eyes together.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“The temples are sunken, the eyelids are drooping because there are tendons…??”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"Because there are tendons that hold our faces and eyes together."

Dr. Som

“If you find an experienced doctor, they will be able to choose the right product for the patient and have a technique that can lift that structure.”

Dr. Grace

“In addition to filling, it can also lift up the problem areas at that point.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Wow, your whole life is spent dealing with these people.”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"yes"

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Are you happy living working with these things?”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

“I’m happy, Auntie.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“You are like twins. I ask one and the other can answer right away. And what kind of happiness is called great?”

Dr. Som

“Because I like studying art, my mother told me that I should study medicine. But as I told you, auntie, I was an average student, only good at some subjects. I asked why? My mother said that when I write a book from the first page to the last, it is like a new book, not knowing that the book has been used. But I still asked myself, “Is that all, Mom?” Until I graduated from medical school, I understood that to be a doctor, both of us must have a medical license. A doctor has the art of designing each person’s face or treating each person that is suitable for that person. But at the same time, I must have scientific evidence, choose what is most appropriate and safe for the patient.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Yes, this is really important. That’s why I said that most people who work in this field must have an artistic mind. If they don’t, it’s hard to be sure.”

Dr. Grace

“Wherever I go, I like to evaluate everyone’s face. I like to evaluate and look at them like, ‘Why are they beautiful? Why are they so beautiful?’

Your physiognomy is really good. I like to evaluate each person’s beauty, but I keep it to myself and don’t say it out loud.”

Dr. Som

“Our happiness is that most patients who come to us for facelifts come back and say, “Doctor Som, I feel more confident. When I meet people, even my friends greet me. I don’t do anything all day but look at your face.” That’s more happiness than that.”

Dr. Grace

“In addition to the beauty, we also get information about their business and career, which the patients told us about.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“It’s very important to do this. Confidence. Confidence is very good because for some people, they really need it, and sometimes they can’t build it themselves. Can we help them?”

Dr. Som

“We can help them, but we have to do it in moderation and find a middle ground. We have to talk to each other.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“You are so young and have a long way to go. What is your wish in life, Dr. Grace?”

Dr. Grace

“Because we like this field, we want to make it as successful as possible. If anyone has a problem in this area, we want to take care of them and fix them so that they get better.”

Dr. Som

“As for me, as a medical professor about facial adjustment, it’s actually my knowledge, but what I want to give to the doctors who come to study is to let them know that when they come to study to treat patients, if there is anything wrong, they will be able to fix it immediately. But the main thing is that I want patients to receive the safest things, so there must be teaching because facial adjustment is not taught in universities.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Because it has to go through experience. If there is anything you want to tell people in general, anything you want to tell them about taking care of their appearance, what do you want to say and what would you say, Grace?”

Dr. Grace

“When it comes to facial adjustments due to age, we cannot delay or stop aging. However, it also depends on each individual and what they like. Some people like to let it go naturally and are happy to be this way. However, some people want to boost their confidence or want to keep their face like this so that it stays in shape forever. It will evolve according to age.”

Dr. Som

“In addition to taking care of us from the outside, Auntie, I would like to recommend that you also take vitamin supplements.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“Take care from the inside. But actually, these days, people talk about it a lot. There are about 4-5 of them, right?”

Dr. Som

“Yes, the main ones are vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin CoQ10 (coenzyme Q10), fish oil, and vitamin D3, which many Thais are quite lacking.

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“It’s unbelievable. The sun is all over the house but we lack vitamin D3. Do you believe that the doctor gave vitamin D to Thai people? But Thai people are shocked because the sun is like this. How can we give vitamin D? Because we lack D3. In any case, we have to consult a doctor.”

Dr. Som

“Yes, many Thai people lack vitamin D.”

Mr. Toi Traiphop

“And thank you very much for joining me on the show, viewers, Dr. Som and Dr. Grace.”

Dr. Som and Dr. Grace

"thank you"
